Year 7 Summer Literacy Challenge
Well done to all Year 7s who completed the Summer Literacy Challenge during the holiday before joining us in September. The standard of entries was very high and we have spent a long time reading your wonderful work.
The overall winner was Natalie Ng with her story 'Summer Ablaze' and book cover to illustrate.
We loved this story. It has a punchy opening and a very touching ending. The range of vocabulary and the language techniques are excellent; the story's structure is good; the spelling, grammar and punctuation are all correct. What was particularly enjoyable was the setting. It was great to be taken to another country - Australia - and to think about the realities of summer for the people and animals who live there.
Well done Natalie - you're obviously a talent to watch!
