World Book Day 2026
This year we celebrated World Book Day through our theme of Personal Passion, encouraging students to explore how reading connects to the things they love.
Students and staff shared their interests — from sport and music to creative hobbies and future careers — sparking conversations across the school about how reading supports our passions and helps us learn more about the world around us.
Throughout the day, the whole school took part in a shared reading experience, hearing Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl unfold across lessons. Students also had the opportunity to take part in prediction activities linked to the story.
The library hosted a range of World Book Day activities, and this built on the excitement from last week’s Scholastic Book Fair, where students were able to browse and purchase new books to enjoy.
A huge thank you to our staff and students for embracing the day and helping to promote a culture of reading for pleasure across the school.
Even Dudley shared his passion for Oasis!

Update: Congratulations to 8T and 11U - winners of the World Book Day Quiz!
