Wavell Staff Scrub Up Well!

Three of our D&T staff members have been very busy over the last few weeks making scrubs for local hospitals, GP surgeries and Care Homes. Mrs Jones, Miss Hodge and Mrs Walford, who has just returned from maternity leave, have been putting their sewing skills to good use in support of our local NHS workers, joining local groups to make thousands of much needed scrubs.

Mrs Weston our Pastoral Admin Assistant has also dusted off her sewing machine to make scrubs, caps and bags for Scrubs Glorious Scrubs.

Other staff have also been volunteering their time during the coronavirus pandemic including Mrs Sanders-Hewitt who has been helping to make bands for NHS workers to wear to hook the elastic of face masks round the buttons, instead of round the backs of the ears as they’ve been getting so sore. Mrs Smith has also been volunteering for North Camp Food Friends where she has helped packing up food parcels for delivery to those in need locally.

We would love to hear from any of our staff and students who have been volunteering their time to make a difference in the community during this time. Send your stories fao Mrs Coombes at admin@wavell.hants.sch.uk
