UK Parliament Week
During UK Parliament Week (24–28 November 2025), the whole school embraced the theme of democracy and active citizenship during their PSHE lessons. Students explored how the UK Parliament works, why democracy matters, changes to the voting age and the ways young people can make their voices heard, sparking thoughtful conversations and plenty of curiosity.

As part of the week, we also saw the start of the Hampshire Youth Parliament Elections giving students a real taste of democratic participation with results due to be published early next week. Good luck to both candidates.
The highlight of the week came on Friday, when two local junior schools joined students from Wavell in a live Teams chat with local MP Alex Baker. Some excellent questions were asked from support offered to local small business to whether Alex saw herself as a future Prime Minister - a definitive no! Students were excited to hear about the proposals for the new Farnborough Leisure Centre and discussion about potential sites for Frimley Park Hospital.

It was an inspiring week that encouraged our students to think critically, speak up, and participate—showing that their voices truly matter.
