Santas, Elves and Reindeer!
On Thursday 17th December Years 7, 8 and 9 took part in Wavell’s now annual, fundraising event in support of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Dressed as reindeer, elves or Santas, students completed a minimum of 20 minutes lapping around the school site, even the staff joined in. It was a wonderful sight to see!
This year looked very different to normal with students running half a Year Group at a time rather than our usual collection of festive characters running at the same time. Students ran, jogged, skipped, walked and danced the course with their tutors and supporting staff. A huge thanks to Mr Panons and Mr Mills for being our festive DJs and chief cheer leaders, to Mrs Coombes our photographer and all the tutors and support staff who enabled this even to take place. It was absolutely fantastic to see all of the students dressed up, super enthusiastic and embracing the challenge despite the difference!
“Thank you once again for supporting us, the money the children have raised will allow us to continue the work we do at the hospice and out in the community. The hospice can only do this with your help – so thank you so much.” The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice
