Language Theatre Visit
Valentine’s Day is normally a day of spreading love and positive feeling however, on 14th February 2019, students of German witnessed the love/hate relationship of two sisters in the German play “So eine Nervensäge” produced by the Onatti Theatre Company. Wavell Main Hall was once again transformed into a theatre where students in Years 8, 9 and 11 were treated to a professional performance from ‘Hannah’ and ‘Lydia’.
The two sisters bickered and argued over boys, clothes and the bedroom, not an unusual topic for many in the audience! It was a great way to experience authentic German Language in a context outside the classroom.
“I think that the play was really good. I was surprised I understood so much of what was going on”
“it was sooooo funny”
“I learnt some new German words from it”
“the actors made it really understandable and it was great that they got us involved with choosing the clothes”
“I can’t wait till next year to watch a new play!”
Thank you to Onatti for a fabulous play and a great way to finish the half term. We are looking forward to next year already.
