The Wavell School

Climate Change Champions

Despite the pressures of GCSEs we were delighted that four of our Year 11 students found the time to enter Rushmoor Borough Council’s Climate Change competition.

The brief was to come up with a concept that would have an effect on the negative impact human beings are having on the planet.  Phoebe and Libby-Beth designed a fabulous bug hotel that, once installed, would bring a host of wildlife to the area and Nathaniel and Clara designed a bin that encouraged everyone to recycle all their waste effectively.

We were all thrilled when Clara and Nathaniel were announced as winners at the presentation evening that took place at Rushmoor’s Head Office.  They received an Amazon voucher and a donation of £250 from Fluor for the school to enable it to continue with environmental projects.

We would like to congratulate all four students on their excellent entries and would like to thank Rushmoor Borough Council for running the competition and Fluor for its generous sponsorship
