Christmas Charity Run 2024
On the final day of term in December a herd of reindeer, an enchantment of elves and a sleigh of Santas congregated on the south playground in readiness for the much anticipated annual Phyllis Tuckwell Christmas Run. After a quick warm-up and lively sing-song, they were off! Year 7, 8 and 9 all enthusiastically ran, skipped and walked around the school grounds accompanied by the sounds of Christmas tunes filling the air.

It was wonderful to bring the school community together to spread some Christmas joy whilst also making a positive impact on the lives of others and we are delighted to tell you that the school raised a fantastic £4,266.64 in sponsorship! Thank you to all of our community who generously donated to the cause.
It is thanks to your support that we are able to continue our hospice care in the local community, looking after patients and their families free of charge when they need us most. As well as raising money, your support also means that children in our area will have an increased awareness of Phyllis Tuckwell and the role we serve in the local community.
You may remember only 25% of our costs are usually covered by the Government/NHS, which means we have to raise over £25,000 a day to continue our care, free of charge for patients and their families, so we rely heavily on our community for their support. Overall, this year £90,000 was raised for Phyllis Tuckwell from our Christmas Runs at local schools and nurseries!
