BAE Systems Challenge Winners!
12 Year 9 students took part in a fun- filled BAE System Challenge Day on Friday 25th June 2021.
This event would usually be held off site but due to Covid restrictions a virtual event was organised and the students completed the Challenge in school. The students were tasked by engineers at BAE systems to build a device to safely transport an endangered bird egg through a woodland. Working in 2 groups they completed the task with remote support from BAE engineers during the course of the day.
It culminated in the two groups giving a presentation to a panel of experts to explain their designs and also having their machines formally tested against the other 5 schools in the local area who were taking part.
The results were announced at the end of the day and we were delighted and very proud that one of our teams, the Eggcellent Egg Movers won the Overall Prize. Congratulations to the winning team, Thomas, Harriet, Dan, Anna and Lily, and well done to all of the students who were involved who worked very hard during the day to produce their machines and informative presentations.
