100 Thank Yous - Remembrance
09.11.18
During this week the wonderful work produced for the 100 Thank Yous Project has been shared with all Year Groups in their 2018 Remembrance Assemblies.
Miss Woodward and Mr Barker have been working with a group of Wavell students since 2017, to commemorate the Centenary of WWI (1914-1918) and the contribution of the Gurkha soldiers.
They worked with Hampshire Cultural Trust, Aldershot Military Museum, Nepali Help and soldiers from the Gurkha Regiment and during the last year the students worked with three local artists to produce art projects to show our commemoration.

This culminated in an exhibition of the work at the Aldershot Military Museum which is on display until the end of November 2018.
We have had hugely positive feedback and the local Gurkhas were very appreciative that we have recognised their contribution. The students have all passed the Bronze Arts Award for all their hard work.
