Business is an optional subject that can be taken in KS4

Aim of the Business Curriculum


The key aims of the GCSE Business Edexcel 1SB0 curriculum are to:

Foster enterprising skills

  • Encourage students to think commercially, creatively, and make informed business decisions, nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets.

Develop a strong understanding of business concepts

  • Equip students with a comprehensive knowledge of key business fundamentals like marketing, human resources, financial management, and economics.

Cultivate critical thinking and independence

  • Help students become effective, independent thinkers who critically engage with business concepts and make informed judgments.

Introduce essential business functions and opportunities

  • Provide exposure to vital areas like spotting business opportunities, managing finances, and applying enterprise skills in various contexts.

Nurture a flair for business and product development
