Wavell in Berlin

During the Easter holiday a coach load of Year 10 and 11 students, accompanied by Mr Van Zyl, Mr Walters, Mrs Evans and Miss Cossburn embarked on a mammoth coach journey that resulted in a fantastic stay in Berlin. During the trip the group visited many monuments, buildings and sites that mark the ever changing identity and face of this amazing capital city. Students climbed the Reichstag dome, visited parts of the Berlin Wall that are preserved in memory of the city’s division as well as trips to the Olympic Stadium, a Stasi prison and a concentration camp. The students learnt much, not just about Germany’s troubled past but also about the modern Berlin. This has hopefully benefited those taking exams recently! A great time was had by all and we are looking forward to the Wavell’s return to Berlin.
