Structure of the Governing Body

The Wavell is a group 6 school having approximately 870 students. The Governing Body is comprised of:

• 7 parent governors
• 4 LA governors
• 5 community governors
• 4 staff governors

Committee Structure

The Governing Body carries out its duties by means of a number of committees which are appointed annually by the Full Governing Body (FGB). Each committee meets at least twice each term and makes recommendations to the full Governing Body for ratification. Dates and times for each meeting are published annually at the beginning of the autumn term. Each committee is allocated a member of staff to provide administrative support.

The committees (with the name of the chair in brackets) are :

• Finance (Doug Cording)
• Curriculum (Andrew Majury)
• Personnel (Brian Hambleton)
• Buildings and site (John Grenham)

There is also a Chairs committee comprising of Chair and Vice Chair of Governors and the chair of each committee). It meets as and when necessary.
